Ever wonder how you can make your radio show sound better? Here are some hot tips! Lots of advice from how to get good sound bytes and interviews, to which verbs and conjugations to avoid! Even after five years of having a show, I still don’t know what it takes for my spoken-word segments to sound good.
These tips all come from GroundWire, a grassroots news programme with contributors from campus/community radio stations in Canada. They wrote the tips as helpful guides for those wishing to contribute to their show.
…because, like, I don’t think Jaron even really cares about the whole East coast Canadian 90s indie rock thing, except for the fact that he is acquainted with people like me, Clayton, and Jeff King, who eat this shit up. But he heard on CBC Radio 1 that Murderecords is being relaunched. That’s pretty rad. A while ago on CBC Radio 3 I heard of a compilation some bands from Detroit (maybe…?) put together and covered a bunch of Murderecords tracks, but other than that I don’t really know the details and haven’t been able to track it down. Anyone have any hot tips for me?
This is one of my favourite videos, and everything about it convinces me that I was born ten years too late. I was too young to appreciate it at the time, but Sook Yin as a MuchMusic VJ? That old MuchMusic logo? Patrick wearing an Elevator to Hell t-shirt? Those must have been good times.
